Laurie Denise Ellenburg, 60, passed away on March 22, 2025, at home after a 3-year courageous battle with metastatic colon cancer.

There will be a Celebration of Life, June 28, 2025 from 4-7 p.m. at Mat’s Place in Garner, Iowa.

She was born June 12, 1964 at Detroit Lakes, Minn. Her parents were Larry and Beverly (Nelson) of Garner. She graduated from Garner-Hayfield in 1982. In 1993 she received her nursing degree from NIACC. In 2022 she received her Master of Science Degree in Nursing from Walden University.

Laurie is survived by her sons, Andrew of Eau Claire, Wis. and Christopher (Hillary) of Fountain Hills, Ariz. A granddaughter, Chloe, her mother, Beverly Dietrich, brothers Larry (Lisa) of Ankeny, Timothy of Mason City, and James of Prior Lake, Minn. Nieces, Isabella Nevaeh, Morgan Allison and nephew, Max.

She was preceded in death by her father Larry and her grandparents.
